NCLEX EXAM REVIEW header

National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) is a requirement for employment after graduation from a school of nursing. Students who pass this exam can request licensure from a state, e.g., New York State (NYS). Successful individuals are licensed to practice nursing, hence the professional initials of LPN.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (December 2015 analysis), the national mean wage is $21.20 per hour with an annual median income of $44,090. Projections for job opportunities are expected to grow faster than average with a larger than normal number of job openings. New York State represents one of the states with high employment rates and a high concentration of jobs. High-end LPNs in NYS can earn in excess of $55,000 annually with a mean hourly wage of $26.87 and higher. The industry includes employment in nursing and residential care facilities, hospitals, offices of physicians, home healthcare services, government; and much more.
