TITLE: Teacher Support Person - Teacher Aide For Speech Services (Multiple Openings in Program for Exceptional Students Department)

LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES within the Indian River School District

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

 
• Assist with connecting students on site with remote speech therapist
 
• Accompany and monitor students from classroom to speech area
 
• Utilize web-based software and maintain service logs
 
• Assist and support on-site speech therapists as needed
   
• In addition to the above duties as a speech facilitator, the candidate may perform the following teacher support person duties:
 
• Assist teacher with classroom duties-correcting of papers, maintaining  files, preparing reports;
 
• Assists in physical care tasks and health-related activities as appropriate:
 
• Supervises students – accompanying to mainstream classroom settings, lunch, bus duties;
 
• Assists students with behavioral management needs;
 
• Assists with classroom set-up, clean-up, and organization;
 
• Other duties as directed by classroom teacher
 

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess:

 
• High School Diploma or GED/TASC
 
• Fingerprinting clearance through NYSED
 
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics
 
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Hourly rate starting at $19.00. Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA.
