Practical Nursing Financial Information
To apply for financial aid, please begin the process eight (8) weeks prior to the start of the first class.
BOCES Practical Nursing program is designed to provide adult learners with the skills and knowledge needed to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in New York State.
With small class sizes, hands-on clinical training, and a focused curriculum, you’ll graduate ready to step into patient care settings or continue to advanced nursing education.
Sallie Mae
BOCES has partnered with Sallie Mae to offer undergraduate student loans to prospective students interested in adult education programs.
All Adult Education programs offered by Jefferson-Lewis BOCES are eligible for financing through Sallie Mae.

Please note: Sallie Mae loan disclosures and confirmation documents will list the institution as “Jefferson-Lewis BOCES Program of Practical Nursing,” regardless of the Adult Education program you are attending. If you are enrolled in a program other than Practical Nursing, this does not indicate an error or change to your selected program. Your loan will still apply to the eligible Jefferson-Lewis BOCES Adult Education program for which you applied.

Special Financial Aid Offers
The Program for Practical Nursing is approved for Title IV funds (Pell and Direct Student/Parent Plus Loans). The program is also approved by the NYS Bureau of Veteran's Education.

- TEAS® Test: $102.00 (Test is offered in person only)
- Drug Screen: $93.00
- Physical and Immunizations: TBD (Paid by Student to Medical Provider)
- All applicants must complete a FAFSA application: https://studentaid.gov/
Note: All fees paid to the Jefferson-Lewis BOCES are non-refundable.
