Gain foundational construction knowledge and hands-on equipment training through industry-recognized NCCER curriculum. This program introduces students to jobsite safety, construction fundamentals, equipment identification, site layout basics, and skid steer operation.

Foundational Construction Skills

Students begin with NCCER Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills, building the essential knowledge needed to work safely and effectively on construction sites.

Topics include safety, construction math, communication, employability skills, and basic rigging.

Students who continue into Level II expand their skills with advanced equipment operation and site work techniques. Training includes soils and soil testing, loaders, backhoes and excavators, dozers, grade reading, and preventative maintenance, along with production techniques used to improve efficiency and performance on active job sites.

Professional focus

Start Strong with Skid Steer Operation.

Students also complete NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations Level I: Skid Steer Operation, introducing the fundamentals of the heavy equipment trade.

Training includes orientation to the trade, heavy equipment safety, identification of heavy equipment, grades and site layout basics, and skid steer operations.

Curriculum includes OSHA-10 Construction Safety. Upon successful completion students will receive a 10 hour OSHA card.

Advance your skills with hands-on training in multiple types of heavy equipment and site work applications. This level builds on foundational knowledge and focuses on real-world operating techniques, productivity, and jobsite efficiency.
