Lewis County Fair Hosts Spelling Bee Co-Sponsored By BOCES
Elementary and middle school students from across Lewis County highlighted their mastery of spelling, competing in the annual fair spelling bees held during the 2026 Lewis County Fair on July 24.
Four competitions were held; Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.
The spelling bee competitions are an annual staple of the fair’s week-long festivities. Jefferson-Lewis BOCES is a proud co-sponsor of the spelling bees in conjunction with the fair.
The top four finalists for each of the competitions are listed below.
Grades 1-2
1st Place: Brody Nichols, Copenhagen Central School
2nd Place: Grayson Cooper, Lowville Academy & Central School
3rd Place: Grayson Vigliotti, Beaver River Central School
4th Place: Ava Seely, Beaver River Central School
5th Place: Luke Kraeger, South Lewis Central School
Grades 3-4
1st Place: Jace Stephens, South Lewis Central School
2nd Place: Matthew Marquette, Copenhagen Central School
3rd Place: Niklaus Rive, South Lewis Central School
