skillsUSA students cleaning up road

SkillsUSA students at both the Bohlen Technical Center and the Sackett Technical Center hit the road as part of their Fall 2024 community service projects, but not in the way you may initially think.

Both organizations made pledges to Adopt a Highway near their respective tech centers.

Sackett Technical Center SkillsUSA members spent a balmy day in late September cleaning up trash along a two mile stretch on Route 12 in Glenfield.

Bohlen Technical Center SkillsUSA members followed suit on October 10, cleaning up a section of Route 3 in the Town of Watertown.

Adopt a Highway is just one of several community service projects undertaken during the school year by SkillsUSA members.

SkillsUSA is a national organization made up of career and technical education students and is dedicated to workforce development. Visit www.boces.com/skillsusa to learn more about the local chapters, as well as state and national organizations.
