ACES Locations

BOCES offers two locations for alternative education programming. The Alternative Center for Educational Services (ACES) on our Watertown BOCES Campus and the Jack J. Boak Education Center in Lowville.

Jefferson County ACES

Jefferson County ACES (often referred to as Watertown ACES) is located on the Watertown campus of Jefferson-Lewis BOCES. The building contains a number of classrooms and a gymnasium use by ACES students and faculty.

The Jefferson County ACES location serves students in 11 of our component districs including: Alexandria, Belleville Henderson, Carthage, General Brown, Indian River, LaFargeville, Lyme, Sackets Harbor, South Jefferson, Thousand Islands and Watertown.

Lewis County Aces

The Jack. J. Boak, Jr. Educational Center is the home to the Lewis County ACES program and is located behind St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lowville, NY.

The building is named in honor of Jack. J. Boak, who served at Jefferson-Lewis BOCES in various capacities from 1983 -2014, including District Superintendent. In making the designation in 2014, the Board of Education cited his commitment to providing high quality services to the school districts of Northern New York, earning him the respect of students, teachers, parents, principals and superintendents.

The building contains a number of classrooms and a gymnasium utilized by ACES students and faculty. The Lewis County ACES program students serves students 7 of our component districts including: Adirondack, Beaver River, Copenhagen, Inlet, Lowville, South Lewis and Town of Webb.
